We had the most beautiful fall day for Katie and Mike’s engagement session at the gorgeous Cylburn Arboretum! An event was being held later that evening so we practically had the grounds to ourselves!
As we walked around chatting and snapping photos, they told me about how they’d been discussing marriage during an anniversary trip to a winery. They sat outside chatting, enjoying the fall weather, wine, and a delicious grilled cheese. (Truly, is there anything better?!) About 6 months after that, Mike officially proposed! He asked at a quaint little inn in Havre de Grace, a sweet private moment for these two!
As we kept exploring Cylburn Arboretum, they told me all about their shared hobbies and fandoms, including Star Wars! So of course, we HAD to incorporate some fandom fun into this session with their lightsabers! This was my favorite part of their session, you could instantly see a mischievous sparkle in Katie’s eye when she lit her saber up and prepared her stance. We of course had to alternate positions for a few photos. In a marriage, no one gets to keep the high ground all the time!
Katie and Mike get married next fall at the stunning Gramercy Mansion and I can’t wait! As two people with a fun sense of whimsy and humor, when describing their big day Katie said the vibes are “‘The vibe is like the Clue movie, hopefully without the murder.” Keep an eye out for their wedding blog to see if we we’re successful on the latter! 😉
