Oh man was it good to get back out there shooting again after some quarantine restrictions have been lifted! Spending the evening with Emma and Matt at Historic Shady Lane was such an amazing way to get back into the groove of photographing again. (Let’s be honest, I was a little worried I forgot what I was doing after so long!)
I especially love engagement sessions because you can really showcase your personality and your style. One of the things Emma and I bonded over is our lack of dressiness. We’re both jeans and t-shirt kinda gals! But when it came time to get a little dressy, she found the perfect dress for ONLY $10. Cute AND affordable clothing? Yes please!
As we walked, talked, and got to know each other more, one of the things we all agreed on was gorgeous Historic Shady Lane is! Seriously, what an amazing venue for photographing. There is not a single spot on the property that is not insanely photogenic!! It always helps when you have a photogenic couple like these two also! 😉
I know I say this all the time and people are probably so sick of hearing it. But, the engagement session for me is such a vital part of the wedding photography experience. It’s really how I get to know my couples. Knowing clients on a personal level, getting to know and spend time with them, and hanging out really allows me to do my job to the best of my abilities!
Emma and Matt are getting married come hell or high water in October, and I am so excited to be there to photograph their day. Now we just cross our fingers, toes, and all other crossable body parts that things go smoothly, and nothing else crazy like a pandemic or apocalypse gets in the way!
